Pacific Northwest DX Convention

Card Checking for DXCC and CQ Awards

DXCC card checking will be available at the convention in the Hospitality Suite, Room 109 during Hospitality Suite hours, starting at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.  Al Rovner, K7AR, Mark Tharp, KB7HDX and Dick Swanson, K7BTW will be checking cards for DXCC. No appointment necessary. You can find the card checkers in the Hospitality Suite on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Card checking for CQ Awards (CQ WAZ, WPX, USACA, and DX Field awards), assuming they are still relevant by August, will be done by Rusty Epps, W6OAT. Please email him in advance to make arrangements to meet with him at the convention. His email address is W6OAT@sbcglobal.net.

Of Special Note for DXCC

The online DXCC system is still offline. As a result, if you have cards to check, you will need to fill out the old school paper application. Card checkers will accept applications only if you agree to use a credit card for the payment. Mark Tharp will collect all of them and process up to ARRL by way of email and then the hard copy will be destroyed. An email will be sent back to the applicant as well. DXCC is still backlogged and will be until they can start processing when the system is restored so don’t be surprised if this takes a bit of time to process at HQ. There is no return to service date but Mark Tharp says DXCC IS A PRIORITY for the IT staff.

You can download your application and record sheets from the ARRL. The links are provided below. And off course you can find more information on the ARRL website.

Your trusty card checkers (Dick, Al, and Mark) appreciated your understanding and patience.
